STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Holy Scriptures – We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, revealed and verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit, hence inerrant and infallible. Psalm 19:7-11; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:16-21.

The Godhead – We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-2, 10, 30; John 4:24; 1 John 5:7.

The Person and Work of Christ – We believe in the eternal deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless humanity, His substitutionary death, His bodily resurrection, His present intercession at the right hand of God, His return for His saints, and His personal coming again to rule and to reign on the earth. John 1:1-14; John 5:28-46; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-35; Luke 2:1-14; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 Peter 3:18; Hebrews 9:24-28; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17.

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit – We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, and regenerates, indwells, comforts, enlightens, and empowers the saved. John 16:8; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Romans 8:9, 13, 16, 26-27; Galatians 4:16-18, 22-23; John 14:16-17.

The Total Depravity of Man – We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that in Adam’s sin mankind fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God, and that man is totally depraved and of himself utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12.

Salvation – We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by the grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19.

The Personality of Satan – We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin and the cause of the fall; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and that he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. Job 1:6-7; Isaiah 14:11-17; Matthew 4:2-11; Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10.

The Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers – (a) We believer that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. John 6:37-40; John 10:27-30; Romans 8:1; 38-39; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8; 1 Peter 1:5. (b) We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word, which however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh. Romans 13:13-14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11-15.

The Eternal State – We believer in the eternal conscious punishment of the lost and the eternal bliss of every saved person. Revelation 20:5-6, 12-15.

The Second Advent of Christ – We believe in that “Blessed Hope,” the personal, imminent, pre-tribulation and premillennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, for His redeemed ones, and in His subsequent return to earth, with His saints, to establish His millennial kingdom. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-16; Revelation 20:1-6; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10.

Ordinances – (a) We believe the Lord’s Supper is Scripturally defined, and so ordered for believers in remembrance of Christ’s death till He come. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Luke 22:19-20.

(b) We believe that water baptism should be practiced only upon the request of the individual and consider it as a means of testimony for the individual, not as a means of grace, but as an outward sign of the inward work of grace. Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 10:47-48; Acts 19:1-5; Colossians 2:12; Acts 8:35-38.
